Information That You Voluntarily Provide

If you provide personally identifiable information, for example by sending an e-mail or by filling out a registration or application form and submitting it through a web interface, that information is used only to process your request and provide the registration or service that you request. When a user clicks the "Submit" button on any of the Web forms found on the site they are indicating voluntary consent to the use of the information they submit for the stated purpose.

The U.S. Department of Energy intends to identify organizations that provide sponsorship funding to the Conference by citing the organization in pre-conference printed material, in pages that appear on this website, in material and signage displayed at the conference, and in post-conference proceedings. By agreeing to become a Conference Sponsor, an organization is also indicating voluntary consent to the display of the organization's name in this manner. The Department also intends to identify organizations that plan to display an exhibit or conduct a poster session at the conference. By completing the application process for exhibits and posters, an organization also agrees to be included in these listings. The Department also intends to publish an attendees list for the Conference. By registering to attend the conference, registrants are also agreeing to be listed in a Conference Attendees list.

Use of a 3rd Party Web Service Company

The Department of Energy, as the manager of the Conference website, may also choose to contract with a private website design and management firm to handle web registration and application data collection and processing. In these circumstances, the website design and management firm is bound by this privacy notice and is prohibited from using any of the data collected for purposes other than providing the services specified by the contract with the U.S. Government.
