Dominion Cove Point LNG, LP - FE Dkt. 11-115-LNG
The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an application filed on September 1, 2011, by Dominion Cove Point LNG, LP (Dominion) requesting long-term, multi-contract authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries with which the United States has free trade agreements that require national treatment for trade in natural gas and which has, or in the future develops, the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier. Dominion is seeking authority to act as an agent for others who hold title to the LNG in an amount up to the equivalent of 1 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas per day for a period of 25 years. The LNG would be exported from Dominion’s Cove Point LNG Terminal located in Calvert County, Maryland, pursuant to construction of a liquefaction project integrated with the Terminal, which will be operated as a bi-directional facility. Dominion requests the authorization to commence on the date of first LNG export from the liquefaction project, or six years from the date the authorization is issued, whichever is sooner. Order 3019 was issued on October 7, 2011.
