Gasfin Development USA, LLC – FE Dkt. No. 13-06-LNG
The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an application filed on January 11, 2013, by Gasfin Development USA, LLC requesting long-term authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a proposed mid-scale natural gas liquefaction and LNG export terminal to be located along the Calcasieu River in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Gasfin seeks to export LNG to any nation with which the United States currently has, or in the future may enter into, a Free Trade Agreement requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas, and which has or in the future develops the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier. Gasfin requests authorization to export up to 74 Bcf per year of natural gas in the form of LNG (or 0.2 Bcf per day), which is equivalent to approximately 1.5 million metric tonnes per annum of LNG. Gasfin seeks authorization to export LNG over a 25-year period commencing on the earlier of the date of first export or seven years from the date the requested authorization is granted.
