Venture Global LLC - FE Dkt. No. - 13-69-LNG


The Office of Fossil Energy gives notice of receipt of an Application filed May 13, 2013, by Venture Global LLC (Venture Global), seeking a long-term multi-contract authorization to export domestically produced and previously imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) up to the equivalent of 243.6 billion cubic feet of natural gas per year to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Non-Free Trade Agreement  (NFTA) countries.  Authorization is for a 25-year period commencing on the earlier of the date of first export or eight years from the date the authorization is issued. Venture Global proposes to export LNG from its proposed Venture Global LNG Project to be located at the Calcasieu Ship Channel in Cameron Parish, Louisiana to any country that has, or in the future will have, the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier, with which the United States has, or in the future enters into, an FTA requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas.  Venture Global proposes to also export LNG from its proposed Venture Global LNG Project to any country that has, or in the future will have, the capacity to import LNG via ocean-going carrier, and with which the United States does not have an FTA.  A federal register notice will be issued for the NFTA request.
