CXY ENERGY MARKETING (U.S.A.) INC.

FE DOCKET NO. 97-06-NG

On January 28, 1997, the Department of Energy (DOE) granted blanket authorization to CanadianOxy Marketing (U.S.A.) Inc., (CanadianOxy) in DOE/FE Order No. 1240 (Order 1240) (1 FE¶ 71,354) to import up to 100 Bcf of natural gas from Canada over a two-year term beginning on the date of first delivery after January 31, 1997. On December 12, 1997, DOE issued Order 1240-A amending Order 1240 by substituting CXY Energy Marketing (U.S.A.) Inc. (CXY) for CanadianOxy as the authorization holder.

On February 27, 1998, CXY filed an application requesting that the authorization granted in Order 1240 be vacated since it intends to transact all of its natural gas import and export activity under the authorization in FE Docket No. 96-92-NG.

Accordingly, pursuant to section 3 of the Natural Gas Act, the authorization to import natural gas granted by Order 1240, as amended, is hereby vacated.
