INLAND PACIFIC RESOURCES INC.
(Successor to Inland Pacific Energy Services Corp.)
FE DOCKET NO. 97-47-NG
ORDER TRANSFERRING BLANKET AUTHORIZATION
TO IMPORT NATURAL GAS FROM CANADA
In DOE/FE Order No. 1284 (Order 1284), issued in FE Docket No. 97-47-NG on June 27, 1997, Inland Pacific Energy Services Corp. (IPES), a Washington corporation, was authorized to import natural gas from Canada. Specifically, IPES has authority to import up to 48 Bcf of natural gas over a two-year term beginning on the date of the initial import after August 2, 1997.(1) Deliveries have not yet commenced under Order 1284.
On September 15, 1997, Inland Pacific Resources Inc. (IPRI) and Duke Energy Trading and Marketing, L.L.C. (Duke) jointly filed an application requesting that Order 1284 be transferred to IPRI effective September 18, 1997. IPES was formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of IPRI, a Delaware corporation. Pursuant to a restructuring of corporate assets, effective July 31, 1997, IPRI sold IPES to Duke, a Delaware limited liability company. As part of this transaction, IPRI and Duke agreed that IPRI would retain the natural gas import authority of IPES under Order 1284. IPES has subsequently been merged into Duke. IPRI seeks to continue the same import activities authorized under Order 1284, and under the terms and conditions described in that Order.
Accordingly, pursuant to section 3 of the Natural Gas Act, the import authorization conferred by DOE/FE Order No. 1284 is transferred from Inland Pacific Energy Services Corp. to Inland Pacific Resources Inc., effective September 18, 1997. IPRI shall be bound by all terms and conditions set forth in Order 1284.
Issued in Washington, D.C., on September 18, 1997.
