ORDER VACATING BLANKET AUTHORIZATION

TO EXPORT NATURAL GAS

TO CANADA

DOE/FE ORDER NO. 1311-A

On October 16, 1997, the Department of Energy (DOE) granted authorization to Centra Gas Ontario, Inc. (Centra Ontario) in DOE/FE Order No. 1311 (Order 1311) (1 FE ¶ 71,465) to export up to 16 Bcf of natural gas to Canada, over a two-year term beginning on November 1, 1997.

On July 24, 1998, Union notified the Office of Fossil Energy of DOE that as of January 1, 1998, Centra Ontario and Union Gas Limited (Union), also an import/export authorization holder, had become a single, amalgamated company under the Union name. Union requested a new import/export authorization for the amalgamated company. That authorization has been granted in a separate Order issued as of this date, and, therefore, the authority granted in Order 1311 is no longer necessary.

Accordingly, pursuant to section 3 of the Natural Gas Act, the authorization to export natural gas granted to Centra Ontario in Order 1311 is hereby vacated.

Issued in Washington, D.C., on August 12, 1998.
