On February 2, 1998, the Department of Energy (DOE) granted blanket authorization to PG&E Energy Trading Corporation (PG&E Energy Trading) in DOE/FE Order No. 1356 (Order 1356)(1) to import up to 100 Bcf of natural gas and to export up to 100 Bcf of natural gas from and to Mexico. The term of the authorization is for a period of two years beginning on the date of the first import or export delivery, whichever occurs first. Deliveries of natural gas under Order 1356 have not begun.
On December 1, 1998, PG&E Energy Trading filed an application to amend Order 1356 to reflect a corporation name change which became effective February 19, 1998. Accordingly, pursuant to section 3 of the Natural Gas Act, the import/export authorization granted in Order 1356 is amended to substitute PG&E Energy Trading-Gas Corporation for PG&E Energy Trading Corporation as the importer and exporter of natural gas. All terms and conditions in Order 1356, as amended, remain in full force and effect.
